A Look at the Past Heyea Ringslinger
Last week we had the very gracious and entertaining company of members of the High Fantasy Society from Bastrop who happened to be in the area. They were very eager to help when the call came through to send supplies to the victims of the wild fires.
As many may know, our state has been and is currently being ravaged by wild fires. Bastrop alone has been left in ruins, families without homes, people left without hope.
Some of our own Amtgarders here and there have lost everything. If you have anything you wish to donate, please gather them together and we will find a way to get them to those who need them.

I was taking a walk through the lands this week, taking note of the land and its people. The farmers are still tending to their turnips, making sure they stay nice and healthy for the harvest soon to come. Not all farmers are raising that vegetable though. The farms nearest the forest have an excellent crop of pumpkins and corn coming into fruition.
Farmer Crow in particular has the heartiest selection of these marvelous plants. When I asked him how he managed to grow such large gourds, he replied with “The trick is keeping the birds and local children out of my fields. I had those scarecrows specially made for that purpose.” I must agree with him, those stick and straw dummies gave me the chills just looking at them. Their empty burlap eyes’ seeming to fallow me as I walked down the corn rows with Farmer Crow was most unsettling.
“Who did you find to make such successful scarecrows?” “An old man I found cutting wood in the forest. He was very thin and pale, but seemed like an alright fellow, and you can’t argue with the results I’ve been having.”
This interesting news sent my curious mind a wondering, so I went and questioned the local wood cutter. When asked, he didn’t know who the other man was and had never seen him himself while cutting.
Cuirouser and curiouser this mystery becomes the further I traipse through the pumpkin patch, but rest assured all will be revealed when I’m on the case.

Cooler airs creeping in, our numbers keep growing, and now word reaches us of more invaders to come. My, my we are drawing much attention now days. With our Qualls happening in a month and End-Reign soon after, we are looking to be a very busy Barony these next coming months. Please remember that we are still collecting donations for the victims of the Bastrop fires. The main needs are clothing, bathroom items, water, money, and toys for kids. Once enough items have been gathered, we will ship them to our unfortunate friends in need.
